A little magic can go a long way — to really screwing up a girl’s life!
Mara is having the worst month of her life. At least, that’s what her cards tell her and they’ve never been wrong. She’s evicted from her apartment, loses her job and is banned from Beverly Hills. So when the tarot cards predict her imminent demise, she uses a little magic to make her world right.
Suddenly, an aunt she’s never met dies, leaving Mara as her sole heir. But when Mara moves into her inherited home, she discovers Aunt Tillie never moved out. She’s still one pissed-off old lady, even post-mortem, and she blames Mara’s magical meddling for her death.
When Mara accidentally releases a demon and awakens the spirit of the most powerful witch in history, Tillie’s ready to kill her — literally. It’s the only way she can think of to save the girl from herself. The witch and the demon, however, have other plans for Mara’s body!
CAUTION: This is a story about witchcraft, friendship, loyalty, betrayal and obsession. While it has a lot of humor, it also has colorful language, demonic sex and controversial viewpoints. It’s really not suitable for children or readers who are easily offended.

Sam’s Story: Book One (Skylar Trilogy) by Amy D. Crusan-Kramer
Genre(s): Literature & Fiction, Genre Fiction, Family Saga
I n this captivating saga, Samantha Skylar experiences undying passion and endures one horrific act of brutality that sweeps her into the arms of the second most powerful man in the country. Samantha’s journey takes her from the poverty and close-minded attitudes of a tiny, coal-mining town in West Virginia, to the estate of one of Atlanta’s oldest and wealthiest families. This epic trilogy follows Samantha from the age of 14 to 40.
Book One opens in 1978. Sam is fourteen and living in Boone County, West Virginia, a place that isn’t accepting of Roe v. Wade or the Equal Rights Amendment. Sam is different; she knows it and her doting grandmother knows it. Neither of them is content with the idea of her ending up the way her sisters did: married to a coal miner and raising another generation of miners and downtrodden women. As the beneficiary of her grandma’s love, Sam absorbed her progressive outlook and beliefs, which caused her to question the status quo.
Of course, being different isn’t a good thing in a small conservative town, both Sam and her grandmother discover that in the cruelest way possible. Tragedy strikes and we’re given a glimpse of the strength that lies within Samantha and how she deals with adversity. The first book follows Sam to Atlanta and chronicles her first four turbulent months in her new city.

A View to Die For by Richard Houston
Genre(s): Literature & Fiction, Mystery Thriller & Suspense, Mystery, Cozy
A Best Selling Cozy Mystery and One month on Amazon’s top 100 Mystery List
If you’re in the mood for a gripping mystery/ suspense book, then Richard Houston’s debut novel, “A View to Die For”, is the right choice for you. The author proves his talent by offering the readers an engaging plot, likeable characters and an intricate puzzle that will keep them on edge, because nothing is what it seems and discovering the real criminal is not an easy task.
Jacob Martin is an unemployed software engineer who lives with Fred, his beloved Golden Retriever, and dreams of becoming a novelist. When his mother calls to tell him that his sister, Megan, has been arrested for killing her fourth husband, Jake knows that he needs to take Fred and go to his sister’s rescue. For the local DA and sheriff everything is clear because Megan is known for collecting her husbands’ life insurance policies and the last one is worth a million dollars. Their mother insists Mike committed suicide, but this supposition might be very far from the truth. Jake is determined to take matters into his own hands and find the criminal before his family has even more to suffer. From illegal entry to computer hacking and surveillance camera sabotage, Jake is willing to do anything to prove Megan’s innocence.
“A View to Die For” is that kind of mystery novel that puts ordinary people in extraordinary situations, which makes you truly relate to the characters. My favorite was Jacob Martin, and not only because he is a dog person. Jake is witty, generous, loyal, he loves his family and is smarter than any detective. You can count on him to solve this case and clear his sister’s reputation. He makes a great team with Fred and is always concerned about the dog’s well-being, which is incredibly sweet. There’s no doubt you’ll love Jake from the very first pages.
Richard Houston knows how to build up suspense, so you will find this book impossible to put down. The good thing is that you’ll forget about everything for a couple of hours. The bad thing is that you’ll have to be patient until the author publishes the next novel in the Jacob Martin series. When you enjoy the first book so much, this never happens fast enough.

A Good Kind of Knowing by Kathy Lynn Harris
Genre(s): Literature & Fiction, Drama, United States, Literary, Literary Fiction
I magine if Maeve Binchy grew up in Texas and wrote an old-school Larry McMurtry novel. Think Hope Floats meets High Fidelity.
That’s how critics are describing A Good Kind of Knowing–from the author of the highly acclaimed and number-one Amazon bestseller, Blue Straggler.
A Good Kind of Knowing is a novel about the power of music and friendship, the relationship two-steps that go on in old Texas dancehalls, and the secret to finding just a little bit of common ground in a world full of distrust.
What readers are saying:
“Engaging, emotionally accurate, visual and funny.
“You pulled me right in.”
“I feel like I’m right there–I can feel the Texas heat and see the small town and the people who populate it.
“The characters are diverse and interesting, and each has a unique personality that adds to the entire canvas of the story.”
“I know these people. What’s more, I like them, even despite their faults.”
“My head is full of your story. It took me only two and a half days to read the book cover to cover, which means I was doing it every spare minute.”
“The pace is comfortable, the characters rich and colorful. The events are anything but predictable; I was always wondering what’s going to happen next.”
Sera Taylor’s store is the one place in Lakeville, Texas, where individuals from all walks of life share a universal love for music and a respect for the gypsy-like woman behind the antique glass counter. Readers get a taste of the unorthodox connection between Sera and Mack, a young local cowboy and musician, and Sera’s previously untested devotion to her husband Bill. They learn of her relationship with Ruby D., the vibrant but misguided mother of five; with Louie, the shy high school band director; with Beverly, the religious, upper-class socialite; with Antonio, a local bar owner striving to make a life for himself; with Tommy Lee, a rich and directionless gigolo; and with Wes, the only out-of-the closet gay man for miles. As Sera battles a serious illness, the characters must overcome long-held stereotypes to save Sera’s store, and in the end, large parts of themselves.

Seventeen-year-old Baltimore Land just wants to be normal, but magic has other plans.
I don’t consider myself a witch, that’s my parents’ thing. I’ve never really believed in magic either. Sure, I tried it a few times. Fell for the whole “magic happens” thing. But it didn’t happen to me. No amount of rhyming stopped my parents from moving me halfway across the country. Not one spell stopped me from being labeled the town freak.
And worst of all, no matter how many times I begged the Universe to bring my twin back, I was ignored. Until now.
He’s back all right. And in a magical bind of his own. Not the magic-won’t-work-for-me kind either. In fact, it’s working a little too well. Too dark. Too deep.
It turns out our entire family’s magical roots run just as deep and my brother didn’t end up where he is by accident. So I’m going to help him. But magic isn’t really on my side. Nope. Once I finally get the craft under control, I’m expected to abandon the one person in the world who’s closest to me, just to save myself.

Strange and Terrible Times by R. Paul Tharp
Genre(s): Literature & Fiction, Humor, Literary, Humor & Entertainment, Literary Fiction
I magine the world portrayed through a severely unvarnished tale of drugs, alcohol, prostitutes, mobsters, motorcycle gangs, and a whole host of other curious beings. It is an honest portrayal of the fringe southerner, at his best and his worst, and is a sober tasting of the counter cultures that dwell on these gritty fringes. The types of people, which skid along this uneasy gamut, range from the kindest of the most honest and meek, on to the most depraved and callused among them. It is humorous, and even ludicrous, at times and tragic at others, but it is what it is, and I post no apologies for any of it.
This modest of works is the paltriest literary testing of Tennessee William’s boasts that “Nothing human disgusts”, all the while being a celebration of Walt Whitman’s fanciful claims of “Being large enough to contain multitudes”. Do you contain multitudes, dear hearts? Climb in, sit down, hold on and shut up!!!

Editorial Review:
“Incendiary by Chris Redding defines what layered, fiery storytelling means: (1) She knows firefighting science and technology, (2) she knows how to mix a flammable brew of plot, character, setting & dialogue, and (3) she knows how to keep the erotic elements flaming as well. Leading lady Chelsea James wowed me! In fact, the depth of all Redding’s characters insisted I pay attention.” –Robert W. Walker, author of the Instinct Series

T he Painted Darkness: A Novella
When Henry was a child, something terrible happened in the woods behind his home, something so shocking he could only express his grief by drawing pictures of what he had witnessed. Eventually Henry’s mind blocked out the bad memories, but he continued to draw, often at night by the light of the moon.
Twenty years later, Henry makes his living by painting his disturbing works of art. He loves his wife and his son and life couldn’t be better… except there’s something not quite right about the old stone farmhouse his family now calls home. There’s something strange living in the cramped cellar, in the maze of pipes that feed the ancient steam boiler.
A winter storm is brewing and soon Henry will learn the true nature of the monster waiting for him down in the darkness. He will battle this demon and, in the process, he may discover what really happened when he was a child and why, in times of trouble, he thinks: I paint against the darkness.
But will Henry learn the truth in time to avoid the terrible fate awaiting him… or will the thing in the cellar get him and his family first?
Written as both a meditation on the art of creation and as an examination of the secret fears we all share, The Painted Darkness is a terrifying look at the true cost we pay when we run from our grief–and what happens when we’re finally forced to confront the monsters we know all too well.

– Tess Gerritsen, New York Times bestselling author of The Keepsake
“Wonderfully reminiscent of the quiet horror of Charles L. Grant, The Painted Darkness takes readers on a gently chilly walk through the forest of fears both conscious and subconscious. With Straubian lyricism, Brian James Freeman evokes not only the irrational terrors of childhood, but addresses the roots of creativity and the vital importance of art. A very impressive achievement.”

Genre(s): Literature & Fiction, Chick-Lit, Contemporary Women, Domestic Life, Sisters, Contemporary Fiction, Genre Fiction, Family Life
O ne summer. One cabin on a lake. Four thirty-something sisters. Anything can and does happen.
One Amazon Reviewer Praises…
“It brought back memories of summers past as well as memories of relationships. It was delightful. I recommend this book to others who enjoy contemporary fiction and enjoy the nostalgic feeling you get when the author is writing about ‘your’ life.”
Overview:
Imagine spending an entire summer in a cabin on a lake – simply because you can.
That’s exactly what Samantha McGreggor, a thirty-something eco-journalist, does in SUMMER OF FIREFLY MEMORIES. She trades Arizona’s summer heat for Minnesota’s cool lake breezes by spending her summer at the same resort her family used to go to when she was young.
Her summer agenda – relaxation, beach reads, soul-searching, bonding with her three grown sisters.
Her concerns – she and her sisters haven’t been back to the resort since their parents’ death twenty years ago when they were all practically teenagers, and, well, they tend to act like emotional teenagers when they’re all together.
Her summer reality – fun in the sun, secrets, sibling rivalries, lost memories, new love, hope.
What readers are saying about SUMMER OF FIREFLY MEMORIES…
“These sisters’ Firefly Memories brought back some of my own.”
“Brought back so many memories of when I was a child and vacations with all the family.”
“It brought back wonderful childhood memories.”
If you enjoy feeling nostalgic any time of the year, then you’ll enjoy SUMMER OF FIREFLY MEMORIES!

D erek may or may not deserve to be stalked by an unhinged ex-marine – he’s not sure. He did kill the man’s entire family in a car accident, and he may have been drinking, though thanks to the resulting coma he can’t remember much about that day. And that’s okay, because Derek is learning all about it from the district attorney as he explains to the jury why the young painter should go to prison.
Prison isn’t right now, though – it isn’t breaking into his home, stabbing him, or kidnapping him at gunpoint. And managing his stalker would be much easier if Derek could see him coming. But, he’s incapable of recognizing the man tormenting him, or anyone else. Can’t even recognize his own face in the mirror. Since Derek woke up from his coma, he’s been face blind: a rare condition that renders him unable to identify people by their appearances.
Anyone in Derek’s world of strangers could be his stalker. In this mind-bending thriller, the talented painter is pushed to a tipping point as his reality unravels at the hands of a madman. On its surface, The Blue is a gritty suspense novel about a man’s quest for redemption. Dig deeper and it asks questions about the nature of guilt, innocence, reality and revenge.

Acclaim for Aiden James:
“Aiden James has written a deeply psychological, gripping tale that keeps the readers hooked from page one.”
–Bookfinds review for THE FORGOTTEN EDEN
“Not only is Aiden James a storyteller par excellence, but his material for his story is riveting.”
–Huntress Reviews
“The hook to this excellent suspense thriller is the twists that will keep readers wondering what is going on as nothing is quite what it seems. Adding to the excitement is that the audience will wonder whether the terror is an evil supernatural creature or an amoral human…Aiden James provides a dark thriller that grips fans from the opening.”
–Harriet Klausner, Amazon’s #1 book reviewer for THE FORGOTTEN EDEN
“Aiden James writing style flows very easily and I found that CADES COVE snowballed into a very gripping tale. Clearly the strengths in the piece were as the spirit’s interaction became prevalent with the family… The Indian lore and ceremonies and the flashbacks to Allie Mae’s (earthly) demise were very powerful. I think those aspects separated the work from what we’ve seen before in horror and ghost tales.”
–Evelyn Klebert, author of A GHOST OF A CHANCE and DRAGONFLIES
“Aiden James is insanely talented!”

A lex was Ian’s five-year-old son: brilliant, earnest, and compassionate.
He is dead now, but Ian can’t let him go.
When his wife urges him to move on, he drives her away. His performance
at work collapses; his friends leave him. Six months later, alone in an empty
house, Ian starts to see his son again.
Every vision is a repeat of something the boy said or did in life: aching memories

Has Ian’s son found a way back, to forgive or condemn his father?
Or has Ian’s sorrow metastasized into psychosis?
With a masterful hand, bestselling Kindle Horror author Adam J Nicolai paints a
picture of grief, madness, and the furious strength of a father’s love for his

- Uncle Progress – 5 stars
“I … found myself marveling at how well-crafted many sentences are. I would find myself stopping and re-reading them, just so I could savor their beauty a little longer.”
- Basil Owen – 5 stars
“Mr. Nicolai uses language beautifully. He paints very vivid images in very few words and he does so brilliantly.” – Tifainé N. Highly – 5 stars
“Mr. Nicolai’s brutally straightforward prose and clear love for his characters… combine into something vital and hungry (like the early works of – dare I speak his name? – Stephen King).”

But both must join forces to stop a crime so monstrous, it outshines Jack the Ripper’s deeds in brutality and cold-bloodedness.
