The Family Trap by Joanne Phillips
Genre(s): Literature & Fiction, Humor, Chick-Lit, Contemporary Women, Contemporary Fiction
“There are moments in life that define you – moments from which entire futures are carved out, where you can practically see the universe split into two.”
Becoming a grandmother at thirty-eight may not be ideal, but Stella Hill can cope – just about – because in two weeks’ time she’s getting married to the love of her life. She’s waited over twenty years to finally get her man; Paul Smart is her destiny, her soul mate.
But when Stella finds out she’s pregnant – a pregnancy that’s unplanned and unexpected, not to mention inconvenient – she takes it in her stride. Marriage, baby, new adventures on the horizon. It’s not a problem. At least, not for her.
Just how do you break the news of a baby on the eve of your wedding? And what can you do if your plans turn out to be wildly different from the plans of the one you love? As Stella’s dream wedding turns into a nightmare, she learns that sometimes the people we love don’t react the way we thought they would. And maybe sometimes love means letting go.
The Family Trap is the stand-alone sequel to Kindle bestseller Can’t Live Without.
“A warm, engaging novel which will compound Phillips’ growing reputation as an assured and compassionate novelist who knows exactly how to work her audience. Slick, accomplished comfort reading, hugely satisfying for women of any age. The book equivalent of a bar of Galaxy chocolate.” Debbie Young, author of Sell Your Books!
“I loved the characters in the old people’s home: how refreshing to find this age group portrayed with warmth and enthusiasm in a contemporary romance. You certainly don’t have to have read Can’t Live Without to enjoy this sequel, but if you enjoyed CLW, on no account should you miss this.” Pauline Wiles, author of Saving Saffron Sweeting
“What I admire about Phillips’ writing is the intelligence, depth & variety she brings to her characters.” Linda Gillard, multi-award winning author of Stargazing and House of Silence
A romantic comedy for readers who like their chick lit with a bit of an edge. “There are moments in life that define you – moments from which entire futures are carved out, where you can practically see the universe split into two.”

Carved In Stone (Contemporary Romance and Humor) (Art of Love Series) by Donna McDonald
Genre(s): Literature & Fiction, Humor, Romance, Contemporary
E ven though his sons tease him about not dating, and his ex-wife thinks he is still hung up on her, 53 yr old retired principal and stone sculptor, William Everett Larson, is glad he waited to date until he found 47 yr old high school art teacher, Jessica Anderson. He admires Jessica for her courageous art and for how she has dealt with her life. As far as Will can tell, the only part of Jessica damaged by her past is her heart. Jessica assures Will she is incapable of lasting love, but Will refuses to believe it’s true. When she offers him temporary sexual fidelity, Will decides to take what he can get until he can find a way to convince Jessica she is still capable of love.
Carved in Stone, the first installment in Donna McDonald’s Art of Love series, is a refreshing and unapologetic look at love after fifty. To find myself so deeply invested in the characters as I was, truly made this book that much better for me. I highly recommend Carved in Stone by Donna McDonald as a romance novel for the “rest of us”. Her writing proves that there’s deeply sexual and passionate love to be had after fifty if you stay true to who you are, and I look forward to the next installment in the series. ~ Leanna, TwoLipsReviews.com

Genre(s): Business & Investing, Management & Leadership, Leadership, Management
K indle bestseller in both “Leadership” and “Management” categories
Do you wish you were in leadership, or are you frustrated with being in leadership? Do you wonder why leadership sucks? You are not alone.
**Award for Why Leadership Sucks**
Winner of Joel Friedlander’s eBook Cover Design Award for October 2012 in Nonfiction
“This strong cover uses color and composition to illustrate the book’s thesis. Confident and direct, it does a great job of matching the tone of the provocative title.”
**Praise for Why Leadership Sucks**
“Miles speaks frankly and offers hard-hitting, cold-hard truths behind effective leadership. In short concise chapters, he packs it into one body of knowledge.”
“I was so pleasantly surprised by this book. It is well written and timely. It is also right on with what is needed in business and politics today.”
Why does leadership suck?
It sucks because real leadership is hard, requires selfless service, and because the buck stops here. Servant leadership or Level 5 leadership is uncomfortable, humbling, self-denying, painful, and counter-intuitive; nonetheless, it is the only kind of leadership that brings lasting results, genuine happiness, and true self-fulfillment.
**More praise for Why Leadership Sucks**
“I was honestly not expecting something so hefty! I can barely imagine the amount of time and thought that went into it. Thank you for sharing so much of yourself!”
“I have started reading your book and find it to be really good, although I had no doubt. It is a fast read and so far hits the nail on the head.”
