Naturally Up to 160 Calories. Everyday Delicious Treats! by Revital Federbush
Genre(s): Cookbooks Food & Wine, Baking, Desserts, Health Fitness & Dieting, Diets & Weight Loss, Food Counters
H ow much sugar can we eat a day?
This is the famous nutritionist Professor Marion Nestle’s advice:
How can we enjoy eating sweets without gaining weight or impairing our health? As a journalist, I’ve asked the famous nutritionist, Professor Marion Nestle, that same question in an interview. In her very interesting book “What to Eat”, she wrote that she loves to eat sweets and that she allows herself to eat 10% from her calorie intake as sugars (4 tablespoons a day). The daily calorie intake of an average person is 1,600- 2,200 calories. That means that everyone can eat a treat that has160-220 calories everyday.
Of course you can eat a little piece of chocolate, but who can? A160 calories piece is too small. As a woman who has to struggle with her sweet tooth, I started to invent treat recipes that were tasty and of sufficient size (for example, a standard-size muffin or two large cookies) and had up to 160 calories.
What’s the secret? How come a regular cake has about 500 calories and my cakes are only 160 calories? It’s as sweet as any regular cake and has regular sugar and no artificial sweeteners. In past years, I’ve explored the field of fat substitutes in cakes. The secret is replacing the one ingredient that contains the most calories in cakes –fats– with tasty and healthy natural substitutes like applesauce, yogurt, and orange juice. Fat has an important role in cakes. It gives texture and moisture. But fat is also why cakes are so fattening. In fact, a cup of sugar has 750 calories while a cup of oil has 1,700 calories! After thousands of attempts in my kitchen, I discovered certain combinations of ingredients that can give the same soft texture and moistness of fat in cakes but at up to twenty times fewer calories. I tested all the recipes on picky eaters, adults, and even children. Most of them could not guess these were low-calorie treats. These are easy-to-prepare recipes so you can eat your daily tasty, healthy treat, but without the calorie penalty.
With the “Naturally Up to 160 Calories. Everyday Delicious Treats!” you can:
* Discover the secrets of and innovative techniques for making delicious, fluffy cakes using natural, healthy ingredients such as applesauce (100 calories/cup), Greek yogurt (183 calories/cup) and orange juice instead of oil and butter (1,700 calories/cup). You can enjoy a good-size sweet treat (the size of a standard muffin, cupcake or two large cookies) of 160 calories max.
* Find a large and varied range of easy, from-scratch recipes for sweet and healthy cakes, cupcakes and cookies, using only natural ingredients, including real sugar, and without any fake ingredients such as artificial sweeteners, egg substitutes or any other dietetic products.
* Make healthy, delicious treats for children. All recipes were sampled on children – they loved the flavors and had no idea they were eating low-calorie treats.

Humorous Lines and Clever Interjections for Contemporary Flirting by Upward
Genre(s): Health Fitness & Dieting, Relationships, Interpersonal Relations, Humor & Entertainment, Humor, Jokes & Riddles, Self-Help & Psychology, Advice & How-to, Health Mind & Body, Mate Seeking
A fter so many years of social interaction you have common sayings you gravitate to quite often. You have your “can’t argue with that” line. Your “you need to get out more” line. Your “I call it like I see it” line. You find no reason in brushing up on your humor when “that’s what she said” interjections win over social circles just fine. Performing a stand-up routine is not something on your list of things to try this year and you are kind of past the “I’m going to be overly outgoing” shtick, yet the charming nature of being quick-witted is something you and the rest of us still find appealing.
In comes a collection of a couple hundred phrases and words that is not exactly a how-to book. In fact it was never meant to be a book at all. Years ago, a very good looking young gentleman, going by the pseudonym Upward, started noting remarks he found inherently playful and somewhat common in conversation for only his personal use, until recently when he decided to pack them up, add examples, and share them with the self-improving public. They are phrases to laugh at. Most of them you will recognize. Now you will have the lines in your metaphorical back pocket to nonchalantly pull out when needed. In essence, a manual to ease your l’esprit de l’escalier. Socially potent fire, if you will.
Can Money Buy Happiness? Ten case studies with five different conclusions – you be the judge! by Cal Andrews
Genre(s): Biographies & Memoirs, Leaders & Notable People, Rich & Famous, Politics & Social Sciences, Sociology, Class
W ealthy individuals are often quoted as saying, “Money isn’t everything.” Those of us who are less fortunate think it sure would be nice to have all our financial problems solved, so we can focus on the rest of that “everything.” Having a lot of money does seem to result in a whole new set of problems, however – ones which many of us would welcome.
In this text, Cal Andrews attempts to settle the matter of whether or not money is capable of purchasing happiness. The lives of ten men who acquired fortunes are examined, with a focus on how they felt about their wealth and in what ways it changed them – Men such as Kurt Cobain, Howard Stern, Andrew Carnegie, Jesse Livermore, and Ted turner. These ten guys are each quite unique, having different worldviews and coming from different social backgrounds.
The author draws a remarkable conclusion from these case studies. From it, he derives a formula for managing wealth in a manner which will keep a person free from the problems which many have experienced from becoming rich. Ignore this formula at your own peril.
This eBook is approximately 9500 words in length and has been professionally edited. It has also been specially formatted for Kindle devices.
