Genre(s): KindleStore, Teens, Romance, Science Fiction & Fantasy, Fantasy
L ike sand in an hourglass, Allai’s future is dwindling away. She’s spent her entire life fighting the Mages who threaten humanity, and dreams of someday eradicating magic. But all it takes is an anonymous phone call for the truth to spill out: Allai is the one thing she despises most.
She’s a Mage.
Though ancient law mandates Allai’s death, she still has one last chance of survival. His name is Drake Rhaize, and he swears he can lead Allai to a sanctuary for Mages. Allai hasn’t seen Drake in years, but she remembers him as the Demon boy who used to hold her close and softly whisper that he’d keep her safe. But Drake has changed since then: He’s now suspected of murder, and has been out-casted for betraying his own kind.
While Allai doesn’t trust Drake, she has no choice but to put her life in his hands and hope he can get her to safety. Because Allai’s father has hired a pack of Demons to bring her back to him, dead or alive–and Demons never stop the hunt.
“This book is a great introduction to a series that I know I will love. The romance was very sweet and believable, the action was heart-stopping, and Drake was the cherry on the top!” –Richa, City of Books, 5* review

The Demon of Synar is a dark, thrill ride through space that starts the series with a bang. ~ Jesse Coffey, National Indie Examiner.com
Intense with detailed world building, The Demon of Synar is a compelling read packed into a novella sized piece laced with enough emotional angst that I sometimes forgot this was a sci-fi story. ~ Leanna, Two Lips Reviews, RECOMMENDED READ
I don’t normally read this genre because I am not really into futuristic stories set in space or stories that are about demon possession, but this one caught my attention and I thought I would give it a try. I am glad that I did because it was a good read. I can’t wait to read the sequel ~ Isis, Sizzling Hot Books

I n this dark comedy, Ezra Gentile, a mid-40s sales manager, goes to work for a tight-fisted, selfish owner, Howard Goodson, to manage Thoroughgood Studios, a faltering chain of family-owned Milwaukee wedding photography studios. Ezra has bounced around the business world with limited success, and although Goodson hires him on the cheap, Ezra sees this as an opportunity with potential.
Goodson wants to expand the chain, putting Gentile under enormous pressure to increase sales and devise a new training system. And yet, the foundation of the wedding business — the dream of everlasting love — is to Ezra a sham. A messy divorce has left him cynical and fearful about romance. He needs this job.
At work, Ezra’s efforts to train the existing sales force are generally rejected, as the staff continues to follow their own idiosyncratic methods and outmoded sales techniques, no matter how flawed, unethical, or manipulative. This often results in unintentionally hilarious situations, like the outraged mother of the bride who accused them of “fartography,” because their “work stinks!”
Since the average bride knows little about wedding photography,Thoroughgood Studios gives them as little as possible. The studio’s plagued by numerous problems – poor photography quality, poorly paid photographers, poor management policies, and inept salespeople, which lead to continuous customer complaints.
All too soon, Ezra discovers he has joined the photo studio from hell. Although their sales presentations paint Thoroughgood Studios as the perfect photography studio, the photographers show up late for weddings and upset the bride, and miss or mess up important shots. When the bride gets the photos, she’s appalled.
Like the company he has come to rescue, Ezra’s personal life is in shambles, and his divorce has left him with large debts. He has long given up on his own dreams of love. Ezra owes money to his ex-wife. During a visit to help her with a home repair, she falls, hits her head, and lapses into a coma, blamed on Ezra’s clumsy efforts to revive her. The police suspect he tried to kill her to save on alimony, and Ezra is dogged by an annoyingly inquisitive detective, which confirms his beliefs about the futility of change.
Paradoxically, Ezra’s ongoing spiritual discussions with a co-worker who has befriended him give new perspective on his ex’s coma. He also has a series of strange, unexplained visionary dreams while asleep. The conversations with his friend gradually causes Ezra to re-examine his relationships in more detail and question the direction of his life….
Alas, Howard Goodson doesn’t want to spend a penny to upgrade anything. Sometimes the employees are inept, other times they try to do their best. But everyone’s underpaid and under-appreciated. Typically, Howard ignores the quality problem and general insanity around the studios because of his central and overriding philosophy – THE AG FACTOR: He only acts when the aggravation from a problem is higher than the cost of changing it.
Howard’s only in it for himself and the money and really doesn’t care about anyone or anything else. If there’s a problem, the company tries to brush it under the carpet and spend as little as possible to remedy the situation. This makes customers even madder. But Howard doesn’t care because they only buy wedding photography once, and there are always plenty of new customers.
Howard is seeking an investor to expand his company. When a rogue financier with reputed gangland ties in Vegas, pretends to invest in the company’s expansion as a ploy to take over the studio, Ezra Gentile discovers personal resources he was not aware he possessed. Finally seizing control of his own dreams and fears, Ezra regains the mysterious woman he thought had been lost to him forever.

Beyond the Bear: How I Learned to Live and Love Again after Being Blinded by a Bear by Dan Bigley
Genre(s): Biographies & Memoirs, Memoirs, Science & Math, Biological Sciences, Animals, Bears
A 25-year-old backcountry wanderer, a man happiest exploring wild places with his dog, Dan Bigley woke up one midsummer morning to a day full of promise. Before it was over, after a stellar day of salmon fishing along Alaska’s Kenai and Russian rivers, a grizzly came tearing around a corner in the trail. Dan barely had time for “bear charging” to register before it had him on the ground, altering his life forever.
“Upper nose, eyes, forehead anatomy unrecognizable,” as the medevac report put it.
Until then, one thing after another had fallen into place in Dan’s life. He had a job he loved taking troubled kids on outdoor excursions. He had just bought a cabin high in the Chugach Mountains with a view that went on forever. He was newly in love. After a year of being intrigued by a woman named Amber, they had just spent their first night together. All of this was shattered by the mauling that nearly killed him, that left him blind and disfigured.
Facing paralyzing pain and inconceivable loss, Dan was in no shape to be in a relationship. He and Amber let each other go. Five surgeries later, partway into his long healing journey, they found their way back to each other. The couple’s unforgettable story is one of courage, tenacious will, and the power of love to lead the way out of darkness. Dan Bigley’s triumph over tragedy is a testament to the ability of the human spirit to overcome physical and emotional devastation, to choose not just to live, but to live fully.

A liens. They always attack when you least expect it. Although if we knew our history we would’ve known these ones were coming. But the truth about human history has been long forgotten, dismissed as mere myth and legend.
Not that Kim McLean really cares about the details. Now it’s up to her alone to end this war. Well, just her, an elf, a crazy dwarf and a Wonderbra.
The Space Between is the first volume in a four book series. It draws on myths and legends of ancient Earth, weaving a tale that moves from Sherwood Forest to distant worlds and outer space. It involves magical gateways, Area 51, sentient spacecraft, a fifty-thousand-year-old intergalactic war, Machu Picchu and strong coffee.

Reverb is a love story, a psychological thriller paced with romantic suspense.
In the spirit of The Magus (John Fowles, 1966), and way beyond Fifty Shades of Gray (E.L. James, 2011), Reverb has intricately woven characters fraught with frailties that possess us all, and that will linger long after the read. The story chronicles the evolution of a modern man–from solipsist to integrated awareness. It is a tale of redemption, of one man’s journey through extraordinary emotional growth, awakening his capacity to love.
Reverb is smart, powerful women’s fiction, and satisfies one of our deepest desires–for men to be more emotionally aware, and more connected outside of themselves.

S ean McDermott is a private detective in New York City, it says so right on his business card. It’s an ok job, but it isn’t as exciting as most people think, and that’s fine by him. He makes it a rule not to get involved in active police cases or in any case where people are likely to get hurt–especially him. So why does the mob suddenly want him dead? Sure it’s all a mistake, but dead from a mistake is still dead.
Taking advice from his friend, The Juke, he starts on a cross country drive to LA (what can I tell you, he has a few phobias, and flying is just one of them), and makes it as far as Mystic Falls, New Mexico before the borrowed Mercedes conks out. Mystic Falls? Think Green Acres–without the sophistication.
All he had to do was lie low and wait for the car to be fixed. A good plan too. It might have worked if only the local “character” hadn’t turned up missing, with him as the prime suspect. Now if he ever wants to get out of this sleepy desert asylum, he’s going to have to find her. Fat chance.

“ Learn from the mistakes of others. You can’t live long enough to make them all yourself.” – Eleanor Roosevelt
As you read this, take a moment to pontificate about your life, what are some of the lessons you wish the generation that preceded you had left behind in a diary that you could access anytime you needed advice in a non-judgmental way?
As you think about that, also think about the lessons you hope to pass on to the generation succeeding you?
Lessons from Generation X to Generation Next is a compilation of over 3,000 anecdotes that describe some of the lessons the author has learned throughout her life. The book is divided into 10 categories: family, parents,
education, career, health, finances, relationships, pop culture, life, and spirituality.
The book offers real-life guidance to people of all ages that will greatly improve the quality of life for anyone who reads it and perhaps generations to come.
It is not only wise to learn from our mistakes but generationally advantageous to share what we have learned with those who might be heading down the path we are all too familiar with. Eleanor Roosevelt suggested that we won’t live long enough to make them all ourselves and realistically why would we want to?
There are few guarantees in life, but one of the most sobering is that one day we will die, and even though death might capture our bodies, our spirits will forever be liberated in the lessons we pass on from one generation to the next.

The Epherium Chronicles: Embrace by T.D. Wilson
Genre(s): Literature & Fiction, Science Fiction & Fantasy, Science Fiction, Adventure, Space Opera, Military
H ope. James Hood, the most decorated Captain in the history of the Earth Defense Force, remembered what it felt like. It had surged through his very being the day he watched the gigantic colony ship rocket away from Earth carrying his uncle and over five thousand colonists to a new world light years from home. In the early 22nd century, Hood, like so many others on Earth, dreamed of following in his uncle’s footsteps. He wanted to travel to a new world, to be something greater.
Then came the War.
An insectoid alien menace, known as the Cilik’ti, swarmed into Earth’s solar system like a plague. After years of vicious conflict, humanity was left battered but not broken. Thanks in part to Hood’s tactical genius, Earth’s forces had finally driven the invaders from the solar system.
Now, six years after the war, new word arrives, informing Earth’s leaders that two of the three colony ships that left Earth have arrived safely. One of them, the Magellan, was his uncle’s ship.
Earth desperately needs those new colonies, but the Cilik’ti are still out there. If Earth sends out a fleet in force, it could start another war. Reluctantly, Earth’s leadership agrees to send one ship to make contact. Hood is given command of a new ship, the Armstrong, and is ordered to proceed to the Cygni solar system–the same system to which his uncle’s ship was headed–with best possible speed.
Hope. Hood needed it now more than ever. Hope to find the colonists alive and hope that he could one day forgive himself for his actions that cost so many lives during the war. Hood and his new ship set out to Cygni, but what he discovers along the way could be more dangerous to Earth than their formidable foes.

Bernie is quick to take the case — something about a cash flow problem that Chet’s not all that clear about — and he’s relieved, if vaguely suspicious, when Madison turns up unharmed with a story that doesn’t add up. But when she disappears for a second time in a week, Bernie and Chet aren’t taking any chances; they launch a full-blown investigation. Without a ransom demand, they’re not convinced it’s a kidnapping, but they are sure of one thing: something smells funny. Their search for clues takes them into the desert to biker bars and other exotic locals, with Chet’s highly trained nose leading the way. Both Chet and Bernie bring their own special skills to the hunt, one that puts each of them in peril. But even as the bad guys try to turn the tables, this duo is nothing if not resourceful, and the result is an uncommonly satisfying adventure. With his doggy ways and his endearingly hardboiled voice, Chet is full of heart and occasionally prone to mischief. He is intensely loyal to Bernie, who, though distracted by issues that Chet has difficulty understanding — like divorce, child custody, and other peculiar human concerns — is enormously likable himself, in his flawed, all-too-human way.

F rom the New York Times bestselling author of Leaving the World comes a tragic love story set in Cold War Berlin. Thomas Nesbitt is a divorced writer in the midst of a rueful middle age. Living a very private life in Maine, in touch only with his daughter and still trying to recover from the end of a long marriage, his solitude is disrupted one wintry morning by the arrival of a box that is postmarked Berlin. The name on the box–Dussmann–unsettles him completely, for it belongs to the woman with whom he had an intense love affair twenty-six years ago in Berlin at a time when the city was cleaved in two and personal and political allegiances were frequently haunted by the deep shadows of the Cold War. Refusing initially to confront what he might find in that box, Thomas nevertheless is forced to grapple with a past he has never discussed with any living person and in the process relive those months in Berlin when he discovered, for the first and only time in his life, the full, extraordinary force of true love. But Petra Dussmann, the woman to whom he lost his heart, was not just a refugee from a police state, but also someone who lived with an ongoing sorrow that gradually rewrote both their destinies. A love story of great epic sweep and immense emotional power, The Moment explores why and how we fall in love–and the way we project on to others that which our hearts so desperately seek.

Ghost in the Machine (Corwint Central Agent Files) by C.E. Kilgore
Genre(s): Literature & Fiction, Romance, Fantasy & Futuristic, Science Fiction & Fantasy, Science Fiction, Space Opera, Fantasy
“ Love is like a wormhole. You stumble on to it blindly, it sucks you in and takes you somewhere completely unexpected. You can’t fight it, because that would tear your ship apart. You can’t control it, either. All you can do is set your thrusters on glide and let it take you where it’s going to take you.”
Going against the rules of her Vesparian Sisterhood, which seeks to keep its entire existence a secret, Orynn is thrown into the open by a request for help that she could not refuse. Seeking to reconcile past mistakes and gain a forgiveness she feels she does not deserve, the control over her empathic abilities is put to the test when the darkness that lives within her spirit threatens to once again destroy any piece of happiness that she allows herself to find.
As a Mechatronic Automaton, Ethan defines his world through a set of logically defined values and understandings. Encountering Orynn throws his system out of balance as he tries to decide if he should trust the feelings he is developing, or if he should follow the logic telling him that she is trying to control him for some unknown purpose. Should he keep her at a distance despite his want to bring her near, or should he follow the heart he swears he does not have? As his understanding of her develops, he begins to question all of his preconceived notions about both himself and the universe around him.
In his attempts to capture the Vesparian prey he has been hunting after for two decades, the First Commander of the Xen’dari fleet will stop at nothing and track Orynn to the ends of the universe. On a path of vengeance for a past he can’t let go of, he will do everything in his power to burn her world down around her feet until nothing is left but ash and the bitter taste of regret.
Ghosts of the past clash with hopes for the future in this first book of the series, set in a universe where nothing is as it seems at first glance and trust is a highly priced commodity.

Genre(s): Literature & Fiction, Contemporary, Mystery Thriller & Suspense, Mystery, Thrillers, Contemporary Fiction
F rom the internationally bestselling author of Blood Men and Collecting Cooper comes a riveting new thriller about one father’s revenge and another’s fight for survival. Theodore Tate never forgot his first crime scene–ten-year-old Jessica found dead in “the Laughterhouse,” an old abandoned slaughterhouse with the S painted over. The killer was found and arrested. Justice was served. Or was it? Fifteen years later, a new killer arrives in Christchurch, and he has a list of people who were involved in Jessica’s murder case, one of whom is the unfortunate Dr. Stanton, a man with three young girls. If Tate is going to help them, he has to find the connection between the killer, the Laughterhouse, and the city’s suddenly growing murder rate. And he needs to figure it out fast, because Stanton and his daughters have been kidnapped, and the doctor is being forced to make an impossible decision: which one of his daughters is to die first. In The Laughterhouse, the city of Christchurch becomes “a modern equivalent of James Ellroy’s Los Angeles of the 1950s, a discordant symphony of violence and human weakness” (Publishers Weekly). Fast-paced, dark, and intensely clever, this exciting thriller represents a brilliant new chapter in the career of a world-class crime writer.

Change Your Life with Self Hypnosis – Unlock Your Healing Power and Discover the Magic of Your Mind by Michael Hadfield
Genre(s): Self-Help, Hypnosis, Personal Transformation, Religion & Spirituality, Spirituality, Personal Growth & Inspiration
C hange Your Life with Self Hypnosis really could change your life. Unlike most books on self hypnosis this is not a recipe book where you turn to the chapter about your problem and then struggle to bring about the changes your heart desires. This book is a step-by-step approach that leads you to a Mastery of Self Hypnosis. It takes you through the basics – ensuring you understand fully how easy it is to take yourself into a self hypnotic trance before introducing you to the ideas and methods of inducing psychological, physical, and spiritual changes in your BodyMind.
The approach is straightforward with four sections. These sections teach you the skills you need before explaining how to effect change to your problems of Mind, Body and finally Spirit.
Skills
The Skills section teaches you the important differences between hypnosis and self hypnosis. You are introduced to two simple, foolproof, methods of taking yourself into a trance
.
A lack of an ability to visualise frequently discourages people from engaging in beneficial activities like guided meditations and other mind training strategies. The author explains how everyone can do what is necessary to create the mental images you need in order to change your life for the better.
Another area that frequently causes failure with self-hypnosis and affirmations is the wording of the self-suggestions. The problems are explained and you are shown how easily you can create powerful mind and behaviour altering suggestions to re-program your subconscious mind.
Mind
In this section the author looks at four basic problem areas that prevent life being lived to the full: confidence, self-esteem, anxiety, and how to resolve relationship difficulties by working on yourself. Phobias are also covered – including agoraphobia/social phobia. Although phobias do not affect everyone they are surprisingly common, and can be severely disabling, so solutions are provided here.
Body
The Body section teaches you how to use your mind to influence your body. Frequently Western medicine lets us down in those very areas where we most need help. This section gives you some general guidance on how to use self hypnosis for self healing. It then covers in detail some common problem areas that you may need help with: physical pain, excess weight, smoking, blood pressure and sleep.
Spirit
Here the author lifts the bar a little so that you can begin to stretch yourself and fully appreciate the power of your own mind. The earlier sections dealt with fixing problems that prevented you from living a normal, healthy life. In Spirit he moves on to demonstrate how you can use your mastery of self hypnosis to begin the process of creating the life you want rather than the life you have. Here you will find an introduction to the idea that we create our own reality along with techniques to increase happiness, attract wealth, and enjoy freedom in your life.

The Disappearance (The Truth Beauty Trilogy, Book 2) by T. V. LoCicero
Genre(s): Literature & Fiction, Mystery Thriller & Suspense, Thrillers, Suspense, Crime
O ne of the UK’s top reviewers favorably compared this trilogy’s opener, The Obsession, with the best-selling smash hit Gone Girl. Now with Book 2, The Disappearance, T.V. LoCicero has followed with another stylish and suspense-laden thriller.
“The Disappearance is a worthy follow-up to the great first book in this series. Read The Obsession first and then don’t hesitate to try this one. Great suspense and a very satisfying conclusion.”–Kate, Amazon Reviewer
In Book 2 of the Truth Beauty Trilogy, the dark, edgy saga continues. In Geneva, Italian scholar Lina Lentini is caught up in the shadowy world of Swiss banking. Schemes of betrayal and murder begin to surface when her friend Clara, a bank employee, disappears. Clara’s American lover Marc joins Lina in a desperate search, but they find only mysteries until they head to a quiet island in the Bahamas. There a stunning turn that no one sees coming changes everything.
Like The Obsession, The Disappearance has complex, sharply drawn characters and shocking twists. This is another compelling read with a powerful payoff. And look for Book 3, The Tryst, in 2013.

Nine Steps to Sara by Lisa Olsen
Genre(s): Literature & Fiction, Genre Fiction, Horror, Ghosts, Science Fiction & Fantasy, Fantasy, Paranormal, Fiction
E ditorial Review
In this eerie ghost tale, we’re whisked away to an England that isn’t quite so jolly as Sara’s been lead to believe. Newly minted Lady Sara Darling has just gotten the news of a lifetime; she’s inherited a lavish country estate in the south of England. It’s no surprise when things aren’t all as they seem, and soon they’ve got all the earmarks of a genuine haunted mansion. Instead of heading for the hills, plucky Sara decides to find out more about the ghostly relative who haunts the halls of Darling Park, invisible to all but her young son Jack. While Jack isn’t afraid of the mysterious Lady, Sara is troubled by the tragedy she uncovers in her family’s past. With the help of her hilariously self-absorbed friend Joanie, and the charismatic local handyman Will, Sara must hurry to learn the secrets of Darling Park before it’s too late.
Author Lisa Olsen does what she does best in Nine Steps to Sara; offering quick, witty dialogue and memorable characters that breathe life into the reality she’s spun, weaving the present and the past into a seamless tapestry of fiction. Equal parts romance and spine-chilling ghost story, I found myself shouting at the book, the way I do at the best horror movies, scared to death for Sara and her son.
Product Description
When single mom Sara Darling inherits an estate in the remote English countryside, she jumps at the chance to become Lady of the Manor. With 8 year old son Jack and best friend Joanie in tow, they explore the nearly deserted mansion, isolated from the rest of the world except for the nearby village where everybody seems to know her business. Distracted by the charming chauffeur, Will, soon Sara never wants to leave her newfound home.
But the eerie manor house is hiding more than a ruined garden and plumbing issues, and it’s up to Sara to find out what the loyal staff isn’t telling. When Sara finds Jack talking to an empty room, she begins to wonder if she made the right decision uprooting her tiny family as the spooky surroundings fuel her imagination.
Especially when she starts to hear the voice talk back.
Is her ancestor’s unnatural attachment to Jack borne of concern or something more sinister? When she discovers the truth, will Sara accept the legacy she’s inherited, or run for her life?
